Sandy Phippen teaches in the English Department at the University of Maine and is the author of two short story collections, The Police Know Everything and People Trying to Be Good, both published by Puckerbrush. From among his other ten books, his novel Kitchen Boy was selected by the Baxter Bibliophile Society as one of the "100 Distinguished Maine Books, 1613-1999." He is the editor the The Best Maine Stories and High Clouds Soaring, Storms Driving Low: The Letters of Ruth Moore. He was the host of the MPBN PBS TV series A Good Read.Â
